UW-Green Bay Hosts Global Game Jam 2017
Mauthe Center is host site for ‘around-the-world’ concurrent video-game making event
GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will host Global Game Jam 2017, Friday through Sunday, January 20-22, at the Mauthe Center, adjacent to the UW-Green Bay campus. The event is an around-the-world concurrent “game jam” where teams form on the day of the event and participants code new video games in a 48-hour period culminating in a showcase on Sunday.
The end goal is to develop small but innovative video games, or non-digital game (ex. board game or card game) within the 48-hour timespan. At UW-Green Bay, about 20 to 30 participants (age 18 and older) will form teams and rapidly prototype game designs with a showcase featuring the best on Sunday afternoon.
Gaming professionals from ZyMo Entertainment, Thawed Codebase and Human Head will inspire participants.
