Shhhhh…There’s an underground movement afoot, for Shakesp…shhhh

Not sure if and how we’re supposed to promote this. It is, after all, called the “Underground Shakespeare Festival,” but it sounds pretty cool, so we will, anyway. It’s a collaborative effort under the leadership of UW-Green Bay’s Theatre and Dance academic program to pull all of the Shakespeare works being done in the area together under one umbrella. (And there are quite a few works in the works.) Wisconsin Public Radio is assisting in promoting upcoming shows by UWGB, St. Norbert College Theatre Department, UW-Marinette, Evergreen productions, Door Shakespeare and our own Weidner Center (with a “Taming of the Shrew” visiting production next Monday). There’s a website up…as more companies begin to post their study guides and accompanying activities, it will only grow. Join the subversives, more details.
