Wisconsin Caregiver Academy is offering an accelerated CNA program

The demand for Certified Nursing Assistants or CNAs is outpacing nearly every other job. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates an increase of 18% through 2024. (The average rate of job growth is only 7%.) UW-Green Bay’s Wisconsin Caregiver Academy has responded to the need with the development of an accelerated Certified Nursing Assistant program that launches this summer. Students can be qualified for this important role in five weeks versus a more standard 16. CNAs can find employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospices, community care facilities and as home health aides in patient’s homes.

Wisconsin Caregiver Academy’s CNA program includes a combination of lectures, laboratory practices and supervised clinical work at a medical care facility. This program is recognized and approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Upon successful completion of the program, all students are eligible to take the Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Competency Examination. Wisconsin Caregiver Academy is part of the Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
