See the difference: Projects light the way to savings, sustainability

Those 1960’s-era globes outside the Cofrin Library? They now have state-of-the-art LED lamps that are brighter white and use 72 percent less energy. The old gym over at the Kress has been relamped. A retrofitting at the Union includes the Christie Theatre — new lighting there has cut energy for lighting by 90 percent. Older, yellowish sodium-vapor parking lot and street light lamps have been replaced across campus with new induction lamps that emit a whiter, brighter light.
