WLUK, Fox 11 talked at length with Dean of Enrollment Services Mike Stearney last week, part of a story on the transfer process between institutions of higher learning. Transfers to UW-Green Bay have increased markedly in the past decade, Stearney said, with most students coming from area technical schools or one of the two-year UW System campuses. A provision in Gov. Scott Walker’s budget calls for solidifying the partnership between tech schools and the UW, but efforts to ease the transfer process are nothing new, Stearney said. “This formalizes it a bit but it’s certainly something that we’ve always been aware of,” he said. “It’s clearly being developed in response to this need that students have to know ahead of time if this is going to work.” Full story.
