The Brown County Retired Educators Association is offering a free Retirement Planning Seminar at West High School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The speaker, Roger Byers, is a former benefit specialist with the Department of Employee Trust Funds, and a Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association staff member. This free, informative presentation is open to all employees and spouses covered by WRS. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome as well. UW-Green Bay faculty and staff can receive a reduced membership at the Kroc Center in Green Bay. Your joiner fee is waived, plus save 15% on the monthly membership cost through a new corporate partnership with the UW System. The Kroc Center hosts an array of education, sports, faith, arts and supportive programs for the entire family.
The annual biometric screening event will be held at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 18 in the Phoenix Room of the University Union. In 2016, all state health insurance plans are offering $150 per employee and spouse/domestic partner for completing the Well Wisconsin Program. Participating in the biometric screening is the first step in completing the Well Wisconsin Program. In the June 3 Town Hall meeting, attendees were referred to the MY UW System portal (accessed via faculty staff web page) to see expected changes to health benefits for all state employees. The changes can also be found here.
The Benefits and Wellness Fair offering information for UW-Green Bay employees and retirees will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Union’s Phoenix Room. Information regarding the 2015 open enrollment period will be sent out within the next few weeks.
Already distributed to employees but repeated here for the record: The annual Benefit Enrollment Period for 2013 begins Monday (Oct. 8) and runs through Nov. 2 for all participating plans. Detailed benefit info will be provided at www.uwservice.wisc.edu/2013 as it becomes available, so check back often. Employees also are reminded to monitor their email account for benefits info, keeping an eye out for emails from firstname.lastname@example.org and “UW HR Administration.”
