12 projects aimed at boosting workforce get $59.5M in federal funds

Twelve projects aimed at boosting Wisconsin’s workforce will receive nearly $60 million worth of federally-funded grants, Gov. Tony Evers announced Tuesday in a series of press conferences around the state.

University of Wisconsin Administration: Up to $5.7 million to create a “workforce-ready curriculum” for students who are incarcerated “to teach employable skills to students while incarcerated and continue supporting them post-release through program completion and career placement.” The program will pilot at UW-Oshkosh, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, UW-Green Bay, and UW-Madison.
