Severtson plays Schubert in free recital Sunday

GREEN BAY — Pianist David Severtson will perform selections from the great Romantic Era composer Franz Schubert in a free recital 4 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 23) at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, 2420 Nicolet Drive.

The recital takes place in Fort Howard Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.

Severtson, an assistant professor of music, coordinates the piano program at UW-Green Bay. He has performed widely as a soloist and collaborative artist, including performances on faculty and guest artist recitals at Luther College, St. Olaf College and Bemidji State University. He also has appeared in concert series in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin. Severtson currently serves as accompanist for the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

His program Sunday consists of “Impromptus, Op. 90” and, following a brief intermission, the four movements of “Sonata in G major, Op.78,” also called the “Fantasia in G.”
