Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs pop songs with jazz style on Nov. 24

Music from sources as diverse as Carole King, Cole Porter and Stevie Wonder will be featured Tuesday (Nov. 24), in a performance by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

Under the direction of UW-Green Bay adjunct instructor Chris Salerno, the vocal jazz ensemble will perform an array of musical selections both traditional and contemporary.

“You might say there’s a “pop” edge to the selections, but we’ll have jazz styles including Latin, Swing and Ballads,” said Salerno. “One of the group selections is a Beatles’ tune (In My Life).”
