Seventh Annual City Stadium Run for Veterans is Saturday, September 8, 2018

Recipient is UW-Green Bay’s ‘At Ease: Veteran & Service Member Student Lounge’

Green Bay, Wis. – The annual City Stadium Run for Veterans is a community 5K run/walk to benefit a military veteran cause in the Northeastern Wisconsin area. This year’s event will be held on Sept. 8, 2018 at 8 a.m. at historic City Stadium (home of the Green Bay Packers from 1925-1956). This year’s beneficiary will be UW-Green Bay’s “At Ease: Veteran & Service Member Student Lounge.”

logoThe “At Ease: Veteran & Service Member Student Lounge,” is used by UW-Green Bay students who are serving in active duty, as well as veterans and their family members to assist them with financial aid, school counseling, therapy counseling, tutoring, study groups and social gatherings. Find out more at www.uwgb.edu/veterans. There are three goals associated with the 5k event:

— Showcase Historic City Stadium
— Showcase the beautiful green parks and pedestrian trials along the 5k course
— Showcase local veterans and help veteran groups and organizations with financial support

Since its inception in 2012 the City Stadium Run for Veterans has raised more than $55,000 for various veteran causes.

Online registration is open on the City Stadium Run for Veterans website www.citystadiumrun.org. Registration will close Sept. 4, 2018. However, walk-up registration will be available on, Sept. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Sept. 8 from 6:30-7:45 a.m. in the Green Bay East High School cafeteria, 1415 E. Walnut St.
