Business Idea Workshop and Student Business Idea Contest coming to UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus, Tuesday, April 16
Green Bay, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus, will host a Business Idea Workshop and Student Business Idea Contest on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall, Room F149.
The Business Idea Workshop begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the community. In less than half an hour, participants can learn how to structure a business idea into a communicative format. There will also be an opportunity to pitch a business idea, with the potential of a $100 cash prize.
The first UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus Student Business Idea contest will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Manitowoc Campus students can apply to the contest by sending an email to KauthR@uwgb.edu by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019. Students will be instructed on how to create a YouTube link of a draft of their 90-second business idea pitch by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019.
Manitowoc Campus students chosen to be contestants in the pitch contest will earn an automatic $50 if they pitch. Contestants will pitch their business idea to judges who will award up to $500 for first prize, $250 for second prize and $100 for third prize.
Manitowoc Campus students who pitch are also eligible for a partial scholarship to a six-credit travel course at the European Innovation Academy in Portugal or Italy or Hong Kong for summer 2019.
