Packers Support Phuture Phoenix Program

UW-Green Bay’s Phuture Phoenix program was the recipient of a $2,000 grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation at an awards ceremony at the Packers Atrium on Tuesday. The grant was awarded to support the Phuture Phoenix Eighth-Grade Campus Visit taking place on Thursday, April 13, 2017.  Eighth-grade students from Edison Middle School will meet at the Kress Events Center and disperse to classrooms and meeting spaces around campus to experience college life. They will attend mock lectures, learn about financial literacy from the UW Credit Union staff, and meet admissions staff to learn what UWGB has to offer for post-secondary options. The visitors will be escorted by UWGB student role models who will engage students in discussions about the importance of high school, what college life is all about, and obstacles they may have to overcome to get here. Funds will be used to defray the cost of transportation, lunches, and t-shirts.
