Dean Gallagher-Lepak talks ‘seriousness of falls in older adults’

Today’s (Dec. 8) Green Bay Press Gazette published an article, “Not Talking about Falls Can Trip You Up,” by Susan Gallagher-Lepak, Dean of the College of Health, Education and Social Welfare and retired local physician John Brusky. Their message is that falls needs to be taken seriously and further assessed among older adults to avoid future falls. Over half of older adults don’t tell anyone after they’ve had a fall. Dr. John Brusky is an in-home evaluator at the Falls Prevention Program at the Brown County Aging and Disability Resource Center.
