‘Play Nice’ selected for Region III Festival in Indianapolis
Congratulations to cast and crew of the UW-Green Bay Theatre production “Play Nice” selected as a main performance for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in Indianapolis, Jan. 12. The group hosts a fundraising performance and final festival trial at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at University Theatre, UW-Green Bay.
There will not be reserved tickets but a suggested donation of $20 for general public and $10 for students will help support students on the trip. The audience should enter through the lower first floor hallway doors into University Theatre for the benefit. On Saturday and Sunday, January 7-8, UW-Green Bay Theatre will be completing trial runs of the festival schedule that consists of a four-hour load-in and set-up followed by the show, and a one-hour load-out into the truck, which mimics the schedule that the team must meet in Indianapolis.
Jeff Entwistle, Chair of UW-Green Bay Theatre and Dance, says that at the festival a technical respondent watches the load-in and load-out. There will be both Festival guests and national KC-ACTF committee members watching the performance. The day following the Festival performance, the team regroups for a 45-minute technical response session followed by a 45-minute production response.
UW-Green Bay is shooting for its seventh prestigious “Golden Handtruck Award” for excellence in technical execution of the production. They have received the award for past productions:

-The Christmas Schooner
-The Balkan Women
