Space Station and Space Shuttle pay a visit
If you have noticed Steve Dutch and students outdoors, looking skyward in the early evening hours this week, it was for good reason. They were observing the passing of the orbiting International Space Station and also the NASA Space Shuttle. The photo here is a composite of eight pictures captured Monday at about 5:30 p.m. by Dutch, a professor of Natural and Applied Sciences. The trails from five-second time exposures run across the center from left to right, passing above the Library. The gaps are due to the image processing time in the camera.
