Proposed merger prompts optimism here
A story in the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Oct. 12, 2017 gives some foresight into the what could be the first of many changes affecting two-year colleges in 2018 if University of Wisconsin system officials approve a merger. “Making smaller campuses in Manitowoc, Marinette and Sheboygan a part of UWGB would give students access to more professors and better facilities, while addressing issues related to declining enrollment at the satellite schools, UW officials said after the proposal was announced on Wednesday,” the Press-Gazette noted. “The changes would actually open many more doors for students; students would have four campuses instead of one,” UWGB Chancellor Gary L. Miller said. “This provides many opportunities for students, with the potential of creating even more.”
