Red-hot Boockmeier is Horizon golfer of the week

We could play like this, if only we practiced more often and were better players: After winning his second-straight tournament, UW-Green Bay junior Tom Boockmeier was named the Horizon League Men’s Golfer of the Week. On Tuesday, Boockmeier used four birdies and a closing 35 on the back nine to take medalist honors at the Bowling Green invitational. Last week, playing in the Green Bay Invitational at Green Bay Country Club, Boockmeier trailed by three strokes entering the final 18 but carded a 2-under par 70 to win the tourney. In his six rounds this season, Boockmeier has posted four rounds under par, with a par-beating six-round scoring average of 71.7. That’s very good. Learn more.
