Top teacher alumna struggled, found success at UW-Green Bay
Also in case you missed it in the Log Extra … A UW-Green Bay alumna recently named the state’s top high school teacher has a great story to tell. As a returning adult student in the late 1990s, JoAnn Miller struggled with math, peppering Prof. Emeritus Robert Wenger with what she terms “constant questions.” Through hard work and dedication, she mastered not only math but teaching, too, going on to found and advise Oconto Falls High School organizations and events devoted to the STEM fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and — that’s right — Math. It’s just part of the reason Miller, also an instructor with UW-Green Bay’s Institute for Learning Partnership, earned the accolade.
