Former men’s basketball coach Woody Wilson passes

Friends and colleagues mourn the loss of former Green Bay men’s basketball assistant coach Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, who passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 after a four-year battle with cancer. He was a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. In 1985, he was elected President of the Wisconsin High School Basketball Coaches Association. In 1999, he was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. In 2015, he was the recipient of the Lee Remmel Sports Award for Superior Achievement. His obituary noted his lifelong passion for teaching both the game of basketball and life skills that accompany sports.
