Friends and colleagues mourn the loss of former Green Bay men’s basketball assistant coach Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, who passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 after a four-year battle with cancer. He was a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. In 1985, he was elected President of the Wisconsin High School Basketball Coaches Association. In 1999, he was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. In 2015, he was the recipient of the Lee Remmel Sports Award for Superior Achievement. His obituary noted his lifelong passion for teaching both the game of basketball and life skills that accompany sports. Family and friends may visit at Palmyra United Methodist Church, 122 North Fifth Street, Palmyra, on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon. Read the full obituary.
