Friends and alumni cheer 'Frogs' to victory
Common experiences are often the ties that bind undergraduates to their alma mater, while alumni events provide the perfect platform to bring those common experiences (often in the form of old stories) new life. Such was the case Tuesday, August 9 when UW-Green Bay alumni from all ages gathered for a night of fun, reflection and cheering for the home team (nope, not the Phoenix, but the Green Bay Bullfrogs).
Aside from the obvious benefits (free hot dogs, soda and hats and a beautiful night for baseball) it was a great evening for all, with the UW-Green Bay folks adding to a record crowd, while witnessing a beautiful double rainbow during a very short rain delay, and cheering the Bullfrogs to victory and a possible play-off berth.
Alumni director Mark Brunette gave away a few door prizes to alumni and friends, with Jay Eggert and Kelly Doetz claiming the $25 gift certificates from the Phoenix Bookstore, and Wendy Wilquet Zill ’85, taking home the Phoenix seat cushion. See the fun through photos, and for a great time, consider joining the Alumni Association for future events.
