Followup to Sauerhammer’s face-transplant tale

In May, UW-Green Bay graduate Tina Sauerhammer, Class of ’99, shared a remarkable story in her commencement address before a near-packed house at the Kress Center. Dr. Sauerhammer was fresh off serving on the surgical team that conducted America’s first full face transplant. The national media checked back this week with the recipient, Dallas Wiens, 26, and it’s not a total victory, yet, but his progress is enough to make you proud once again that a UW-Green Bay alumna contributed to this medical miracle: more.
