UW-Green Bay mourns passing of recent graduate, Prasanthika ‘Madu’ Fernando

UW-Green Bay mourns the loss of recent graduate Prasanthika Fernando, who passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 as the result of a traffic accident in Milwaukee. She attended UW-Green Bay and graduated in fall 2020 with Human Biology degree. She attended the Spring 2021 Commencement Celebration.

Prisanthaka, known as “Madu” was an excellent student with hopes of entering the medical field. She was was involved in Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA) and participated in UW-Green Bay’s Jumpstart program.

“She was dedicated to her education,” said Mai Lo Lee, director of MESA. “She was very kind. She was impactful.”

Visitation is Friday, June 11 at the Harder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. An Additional visitation will be held Saturday, June 12 at St. Monica Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
