On Friday, May 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. at UW-Green Bay’s Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, CollegeReady (previously Scholarships Inc.) will gather its latest class of NEW Scholars college readiness program graduates for College Signing Day. In partnership with UW-Green Bay, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, St. Norbert College and the Green Bay Area Public School District, College Signing Day will celebrate and encourage these students as they sign their acceptance to the college/university they will attend this fall.
Through academic support, college prep, parent workshops, service learning, and so much more, NEW Scholars breaks down barriers to higher education that exist for many low-income and first-generation students. In addition, participating students also earn up to a $5,000 scholarship toward their college expenses.
During the program, Chancellor Alexander will say a few words of welcome and congratulate the students heading to UW-Green Bay. Assistant VC for Enrollment Jen Jones invites you to join the celebration and welcome new students.
Since 1962, CollegeReady (previously Scholarships, Inc.) has been the local “go-to” resource for Northeast Wisconsin students who need help funding their college dreams. The organization has awarded over $12M in scholarships to thousands of local students, and provides support and encouragement to underserved, college-bound middle and high school students in our community through the NEW Scholars college readiness program.
