Big curtain makes commencement debut

Something different about the staging of May 2010 Commencement — something about the look of the Kress Events Center — but you can’t quite put your finger on it? Maybe, just maybe, it was the big black curtain. The giant expanse of fabric was recently acquired by the University and the Kress as a more appropriate backdrop for major productions on the Kress main floor. More elegant, certainly, than unused seating in the east end zone that formerly was only partially obscured by low-rise piping/draping at the back of the stage.
