Reminder: Strategic Philanthropy course invites campus, community

Here’s a friendly reminder that members of the campus and larger communities are invited to attend the Strategic Philanthropy Awards Reception at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8 in the Union’s Christie Theatre. Assistant Prof. Lora Warner’s Strategic Philanthropy class will award its $10,000 grant to a deserving Brown County area nonprofit or nonprofits, which will be announced that night. The course has partnered with Doris Buffet’s Learning by Giving Foundation to present this year’s award. Students base their recipient selection on a semester of research, due diligence and attention to the mechanics and philosophy of philanthropy and grant-making.
