Faculty advisors in Cofrin School of Business to complete a faculty advising certificate
All faculty who serve as a faculty advisors in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business will complete a training certificate program created by the School’s Student Success Advisor, Kay Voss. This certificate program administered in Canvas will help advisors learn how to guide students through their college experience. Faculty advisors will acquire the basic information to help students navigate the University and program requirements. Advisors will apply their knowledge to help all students have a meaningful college experience that rises above mere credentialing or box checking.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learners will gain a better understanding of our students at UW-Green Bay.
2. Participants will learn how to plan and conduct successful advising sessions in line with UW-Green Bay standards and differentiate between prescriptive and developmental advising models
3. Participants will gain knowledge for advising as a teaching tool and provide needed resource information.
4. Participants will create high impact experiences that will translate into greater retention.
