Community leaders, high school students enjoy a day at the Kress

UW-Green Bay Associate Director of Athletics Jeanne Stangel and Green Bay West High School advisers Jody Vanwassenhoven and Kim Schanock, worked together to coordinate an evening at the Kress Center for a group of student leaders from West High School. A hand-selected group of girls were treated to a tour of the Kress Events Center, had a chance to meet UW-Green Bay students from the Phoenix Optimist group, and attended the Phoenix women’s basketball game, March 4. The Leadership group received funding from the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay, which raises support for leadership and self-esteem initiatives for women and girls in the area. Many of the Women’s Fund Board of Directors joined in on the activities. In all, 60 women and girls attended the event, among them, UW-Green Bay Provost Julia Wallace and athletics booster Carol Bush.
