Remembering Robert Zimonick, longtime Founders Association leader
Longtime Founders Association board member and University advocate Robert (Bob) Zimonick passed away Saturday at age 92. He joined the Founders Association Board of Directors in 1986 and continued to serve on the Board until moving to emeritus status last fall. He will be remembered this Thursday (Feb. 18) with an 11 a.m. funeral service at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Green Bay. A Beloit College graduate and U.S. Air Corps veteran, Zimonick spent nearly 50 years in sales in the Green Bay area. In addition to his service on the Founders Board, he was a member of the local Salvation Army Board for nearly 60 years. Bob, along with his wife, June, had been longtime supporters of the UW-Green Bay Founders Association (for 35 straight years), the Weidner Center and Phoenix Athletics.
