Campus mourns passing of alumnus Jon Delany, former co-director of Phoenix Pep Band

Music alumnus Jon Delany ’98, 44, passed away last Sunday. He was a highly popular band director at Freedom High School, taught at UW-Green Bay Summer Camps, and directed/co-directed the Phoenix Pep Band for 12 years. He married music alumna Christy (Fehrenbach) Delany ’98 in 1998. He was a great ambassador for the UW-Green Bay music program, and was featured in a story about UW-Green Bay music educators in 2009. The Memorial Service for Delany will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 2700 Babcock Rd., at 5 p.m. Saturday, followed by a celebration of his life from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
