Inclusive: Common Theme is familiar to campus
The Common Theme for the 2011-12 school year will be “Celebrating Differences, Creating Community.” Campus diversity is defined by, but is not limited to, ethnicity, age, and expression of gender, socioeconomic status and sexual orientation. The main focus of UW-Green Bay’s 2011-12 Common Theme is to focus on inclusion throughout the University and to show the importance of diversity within the campus community. The proposal was submitted by Angela Bauer-Dantoin (Human Biology), Deborah Rezac and Shawn Robinson (American Intercultural Center), Jolanda Sallmann (Social Work) and Kristin Vespia (Human Development and Psychology). A workshop, “Making Inclusive Excellence,” was held on campus Jan. 19 as a conversation starter for faculty and staff.
