Reminders: Scholarships, job fair, SEOTY

Here are some reminders from the Financial Aid office:
Scholarships play an important role in helping many talented students achieve their educational goals Qualified incoming freshmen and continuing students may fill out a general application through the Office of Financial Aid to be considered for a large pool of awards, including one for children of University employees with at least half-time appointments. The deadline to apply for these funds is Feb.15, 2018. Review the Scholarships website for information about additional departmental and private scholarships! The Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment and Human Resources are hosting a job fair for on-campus employers and community service work study partners. The event will be held Monday, Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Phoenix Rooms. Employers may advertise current openings, recruit for summer positions or simply connect with students who are seeking jobs. On-campus supervisors should have received an email with a link to register through Handshake. The Student Employment Office is seeking nominations for the 2018 Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) competition. A special ceremony to recognize nominees and award winners will be held April 9, 2018.  All nomination forms are due to the Student Employment Office (SS1100) by Feb. 16, 2018.
