Faculty note: Shelton publishes on baseball’s free-agent history

Assistant Prof. Jon Shelton of Democracy and Justice Studies recently published a piece entitled “How Free Agency Changed the Course of Baseball’s Labor History” commemorating the 40-year anniversary of free agency in Major League Baseball on inthesetimes.com. The article uses the anniversary of baseball’s first free agents to chart the labor history of professional baseball and some larger lessons for today’s economy.
