In the news: Outstanding young intern highlights power of collaboration
An outstanding intern with UW-Green Bay ties was honored Tuesday (Nov. 27) for completing his 500th hour on the job with the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District — and he’s only 16. Green Bay Southwest High School junior Brandon Burton has reached that milestone through the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Youth Apprenticeship Program, which also includes coursework at NWTC. UW-Green Bay Prof. John Katers serves on the advisory committee for the collaborative program — and Burton plans to attend here when the time is right. “I’d like to finish up my classes at NWTC, then head over to UWGB,” Burton told WLUK, Fox 11 News. “Finish up my classes there, and hopefully work here (at the GBMSD).” Full story.
