Governor-elect Walker upbeat in address to Board of Regents
In one of his first events as Governor-elect, Republican Scott Walker addressed the UW System Board of Regents this morning (Nov. 4). Walker told the Regents “great challenges bring great opportunities.” Walker said he was proud to see the innovations on campuses across the state during his campaign, and he is hopeful to have UW System universities and colleges play an active role in recruiting businesses to the state. Walker said he is committed to adding more graduates to the state through what he called “aggressive initiatives.” The Governor-elect told the Regents “it isn’t always about money,” it’s also about “flexibility, innovation and creativity.” Walker pledged to make sure campus representatives are at the table with the Department of Commerce anytime a would-be employer comes to the state.
