In the news: Students to survey local food insecurity

A group of UW-Green Bay students will survey hundreds of people at area food pantries this fall, part of an every-five-years effort designed to measure food insecurity in our area. The survey will assess the number of times people use food pantries, reasons some don’t, special dietary needs and use of other food assistance programs, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported this weekend. It also will ask about employment, housing and obesity. The students will compile their results and share the information in March, Assistant Prof. Gail Trimberger told the paper. Full story.
