Burns said there are 1,100 new freshmen on campus this semester which she said is about the same as previous years. One of those new freshmen is Aaron Hartmann from Athens, Wisconsin.

Hartmann said he entered the workforce two years after graduating high school so he could earn money to pay for college. He said he will study elementary education and spend move-in day on Saturday afternoon with his parents.

“I’m really looking forward to taking a step back from working all the time and have some time for myself, more time to meet other people and do stuff that is fun,” said Hartmann.
