More than 3,000 backpacks were filled with necessary school supplies, as well new socks and underwear. Due to the pandemic, children cannot shop in person this year, but that’s not stopping the back to school store. The backpacks are being dispersed around the county to kids in need.“It means a lot to us that we can take that worry off the kids’ shoulders,” said Anna Burnette, marketing chair for the back-to-school store. “They can walk in to school with their head held high. They have everything they need when the teacher asks them for get your pencil or your notebook. They have it, and they don’t have to think about it.”

Packing of the backpacks will continue at the UW-Green Bay Kress Center until Wednesday.
