In the media: Decades later, UW-Green Bay video continues to help kids
Green Bay Press-Gazette reporter and critic Warren Gerds reached back into the 1980s in his Saturday (July 21) column, talking about a video that teaches children about preventing sexual abuse. “Little Bear” was made at UW-Green Bay in 1984 and ’85, Gerds says, produced by Northeastern Wisconsin in-School Telecommunications (NEWIST) and Bridgework Theatre of Goshen, Ind. The video still is distributed through NEWIST (housed here on campus) and its creation marked the start of a series of television productions on tough issues that would be created in Green Bay, Gerds says.
