NBA-bound? Story looks at prospects for Phoenix’s Brown

With another NBA draft in the books, talk has started again about Phoenix men’s basketball standout Alec Brown having a possible future in the league. The Press-Gazette and sister paper The Post-Crescent of Appleton last week ran a story looking ahead to next year’s draft — and how Brown hopes to be participating, instead of watching the event on TV. “It definitely helps motivate you,” the 7-foot-1 senior told reporter Scott Venci. “It motivates anyone watching the draft and seeing dreams come true. It just makes you want to work harder every day.” And while Brown has grown accustomed to playing in front of NBA scouts and learning what he needs to improve, his focus remains on the Phoenix and its upcoming season, he said. “Obviously, I hear stuff,” he said. “But I try to keep it out of my head and just focus on winning games and making myself better. Making the team better. Getting everyone in better position for next year, because that’s all that matters right now.” Full story.
