UW-Madison ‘split’ appears dead
In case you missed it over the long, furlough-extended Memorial Day weekend, UW-Madison’s chancellor acknowledged Friday that it’s unlikely that a plan to split the flagship campus from a board that oversees the rest of the state’s public universities will get approval from lawmakers this week. Chancellor Biddy Martin indicated support for proposals that would give all UW universities more autonomy over the operation of their campuses but would keep UW-Madison as a part of the system.
