Strohfus’ story: Coverage continues of WWII pilot’s visit to campus, beyond

The great media coverage of female World War II pilot Betty Strohfus’ Northeastern Wisconsin visit continued Saturday (March 8) with an article and video from the Oshkosh Northwestern. As we told you here recently, Strohfus visited UW-Green Bay and several area locations last week, participating in events held in connection with the University production of Censored on Final Approach. On Friday morning, Strohfus joined UW-Green Bay students and others at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, checking out an AT-6 combat trainer of the type she flew during the war. Her name was placed on the side of the plane as a tribute to her service, and Strohfus reflected on the history of the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots corps of which she was a part. Censored on Final Approach, which wrapped up Saturday, told the story of the WASPs. Story and video.
