PinkZone Game special for Weitzer Family

UW-Green Bay student Lexi Weitzer, a freshmen reserve for the Phoenix women’s basketball team, no doubt found special meaning in the program’s annual PinkZone game for cancer awareness, played Sunday afternoon against Youngstown State at the Kress. It was just more than a year ago when Weitzer’s mother, Laurie, was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer of the thyroid gland.
