Caliendo plays Weidner tonight; fun story in Thursday’s ‘Press-Gazette’
Comedian Frank Caliendo will take the stage at the Weidner Center tonight (Friday, Jan. 24), bringing his signature impressions and other fun to audiences in what may be becoming a winter appearance tradition. The Green Bay Press-Gazette’s Kendra Meinert had a great story in Thursday’s (Jan. 23) newspaper, noting that Caliendo is piggybacking mid-winter Milwaukee and Green Bay appearances just as he did in 2012 — despite having zero tolerance for January’s frigid temps. “I got off the plane from Phoenix in a pair of shorts and a light jacket,” the comedian, who grew up in Waukesha, told Meinert. “I literally thought I was going to die, because I’ve lost all this weight and I’ve got Phoenix-thin blood.” (We should note that that’s Phoenix, Ariz., not Phoenix the mascot). Caliendo may shiver his way to the stage, but we’re betting on a great performance once he’s there. Full story.
