MENOMINEE — An exhibit illustrating the life and career of professor emeritus James LaMalfa, University of Wisconsin, Marinette Campus, continues through Dec. 30 at the Spies Library art gallery. The exhibit displays art from LaMalfa’s student days at UW Madison in the 1960s (sculpture), and over 20 two-dimensional artworks including paintings on driftwood, pastel drawings, watercolors and acrylics.
One of the sculptures is a model of the full-sized steel, painted relief LaMalfa created to honor Herb Williams, founder of Theater on the Bay. The full-sized sculpture is attached to the fine arts building on the UW Marinette campus.
