New endowment benefits university library, honors Robert L. Ganyard
A generous gift to create an endowment for the David A. Cofrin Library carries a very recognizable name. The Robert L. Ganyard Library Endowment has been established to support the mission of the library and encourage academic excellence. Annual proceeds could be used for acquisitions, preservation, special equipment, professional development stipends and more. The endowment was created by Dr. Debra Ann Reilly, M.D., who is medical director of the University of Nebraska Medical Center Burn and Wound Center, Omaha. She is the sister of UW-Green Bay Prof. Clif Ganyard (Humanistic Studies) and the sister-in-law of Cofrin Library Director Paula Ganyard. Reilly’s gift honors the memory of her stepfather, an award-winning teacher, researcher and author at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. “Dad was a mentor to many and should be honored for his life spent in education,” Reilly said. It’s a fine story of education, libraries and one scholar’s legacy, click here.
