In Spain, a thoroughly Spanish dinner with UW-Green Bay exchange students
In a LOG item yesterday we included a note on Humanistic Studies Prof. Gabriel Saxton-Ruiz and his recent participation in an international conference on crime fiction. The conference took place at the University of León in Spain, an institution with which UW-Green Bay shares a longstanding exchange program. Saxton-Ruiz says he had the opportunity to go out to dinner with our students spending the semester there (Jennifer Bachman, Jordan Mathes and Juan Gomez-Vargas), and “I am happy to report that they are doing well and enjoying their study abroad experience. How’s this for adapting to a new culture…for dinner the students ordered the following: mollejas de lechazo (lamb sweetbreads), rabo al vino tinto (bull’s tail in a red wine sauce), cecina (carpaccio-style cured beef), hake croquettes and…pasta and mushroom sauce…” Sounds like the good life, Spanish-style, to us.
