The Universities of Wisconsin employee pay plan advocacy points
The Universities of Wisconsin have provided the following information for employees:
“We understand that many university employees are frustrated and would like to take action in support of the Universities of Wisconsin pay plan. To ensure they do so in a legal and ethical manner, we offer the following guidance:
- Employees may not use university resources to contact legislators to advocate for the University.
- Employees may not contact legislators during the employee’s work hours without ensuring time off is accounted for.
- The most effective advocacy is local, so if an employee would like to engage, we encourage them to focus on their own representatives. Anyone can find their legislators
- We know that employees, and their families, also have questions and concerns about the impact of withholding pay plan adjustments by a legislative committee. We are advocating on their behalf.”
