In this video, UW-Green Bay Prof. Harvey J. Kaye (Ben & Joyce Rosenberg Professor of Democracy and Justice Studies), points out how, starting with the revolution, the American tradition is a radical one. By comparing Thomas Paine to Edmund Burke he demonstrates how the American project was founded as a project of emancipation.
