UW-Green Bay Associate Prof. Eric Morgan (Democracy and Justice Studies) recently published a chapter “Don’t Play Ball with South Africa” in the edited collection Sport and Protest: Global Perspectives. Morgan’s essay, originally published in The International Journal of the History of Sport, explores the efforts of American Coordinating Committee for Equality in Sport and Society (ACCESS) and other activists in the U.S. to force the International Tennis Federation to ban South Africa from competing in the Davis Cup, examining the role of sport in the struggles against apartheid in the U.S. at the end of 1970s. More information about the volume can be found on Routledge.
