It’s been decades since water quality issues closed Green Bay’s Bay Beach to swimmers, but Prof. Emeritus H.J. (“Bud”) Harris says there may be a time when it could open once again. Harris, professor emeritus of Natural and Applied Sciences, was featured in a front-page story in Wednesday’s (July 20) Green Bay Press-Gazette. He said progress has been made and water-quality improvements could some day make it possible to swim at Bay Beach — which could be welcome news during heat waves in the years yet to come. Check out the story (complete with vintage photo).
