Prof. Emeritus weighs in on swimming at Bay Beach
It’s been decades since water quality issues closed Green Bay’s Bay Beach to swimmers, but Prof. Emeritus H.J. (“Bud”) Harris says there may be a time when it could open once again. Harris, professor emeritus of Natural and Applied Sciences, was featured in a front-page story in Wednesday’s (July 20) Green Bay Press-Gazette. He said progress has been made and water-quality improvements could some day make it possible to swim at Bay Beach — which could be welcome news during heat waves in the years yet to come.
